Meizu has launched its first smartphone of the year dubbed as Meizu M6s. The smartphone has been launched in China at a starting price of CNY 999. The key highlights of the phone are its 18:9 display and the fingerprint sensor placed on the side. It is also the first device from Meizu to be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7872 hexa-core processor with Mali G71 GPU.Meizu M6s is also listed on US website. There’s no word on its availability in India though. Ard Boudeling, head of Meizu’s marketing team has tweeted the details of the phone. The phone sports a 5.7-inch display with HD+ resolution with 1440×720 pixels of resolution. Following the ongoing trend, the Meizu M6s also sports an 18:9 aspect ratio with very thin bezels around the display. A very thin bezel can be seen on the bottom.The dual-SIM Meizu is powered by a hexa-core Samsung Exynos 7872 processor with Mali-G71 GPU and 3GB RAM. The phone runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat with Flyme OS 6.2 skin on top. The company claims that M6s is the first M-series device to use the high-end Cortex-A73 microarchitecture.There are two variants of the phone- the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage model of M6s costs CNY 999 (approximately Rs 9,900 ) and the 3GB RAM/ 64GB storage model costs CNY 1,199 (approximately Rs 12,900). The smartphone is available for pre-booking and will go on sale starting January 19.Ard Boudeling explains that the Meizu M6s comes with Super mBack or Halo button to navigate the phone. The new Halo button includes features like touch to go back, press to navigate to home, long-press to sleep, swipe left to switch apps and swipe up to multitask. The device is backed by a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support.advertisementOn the camera front, Meizu M6s sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with Samsung CMOS lens and f/2.0 aperture. There is an 8-megapixel selfie on the front with f/2.0 aperture and ArcSoft Beauty Algorithm Adaptive Skinning Technology.
